Red Worms die in dirt
Red Worms need organic matter to survive. If you donate your red worms to dirt, the red worms will die from hunger. There are no organic matter in dirt. Under grass there is no organic matter but dirt.
If you want to give your red worms to your garden, you must put them in organic matter. Putting red worms in a garden bed with veggies growing in it, is not food to the worms.
Earth worms are a different specie than red composting worms. Earth worms can burrow as deep as 12 feet. Earth worms are loners whereas red worms bunch up together. If you want to get rid of your red worms from your factory of worms, stop feeding them and the worms will end up composting themselves. They will eat each other until there are no more and when that happens, you have the richest worm casting on the market.
