Grit

Worms need grit to grind food. Grit is abrasive particles used by worms' gizzards to grind food. You can add a couple hand full of soil to your worm bedding to provide grit to your worm bedding. Egg shells also add grit to the bedding. Grit aids the breaking down of food particles.
