This bin looks good in the kitchen, is more than easy to use and my worms are very happy in it. It has large trays so you can keep using it for a good while before paying it any attention (like removing completed compost). The bottom collects "worm tea" which your plants will love and the lid keeps uglies out of sight but is well ventilated for the worms. And it's true: no flies, no stink, nada. Honestly, I will probably buy another one soon (there's always more waste to be wormed!)

Worm Fattening Food Recipe

Our worms are normally smaller because we only feed screened diary manure in order to maintain the Organic lab tests and certification.

To really enlarge our worms for better bait purposes, here's a great recipe for what is fondly called "WORM FATTENER":

5 parts chicken layer pellets or chick starter
2 parts wheat or rice bran
2 parts alfalfa pellets
1 part whole wheat flour
1 part agricultural lime
1 part powdered milk

Just mix several handfuls of "Worm Fattener" with the food waste at each feeding and your worms will be nice & plump for fishing.
